Service Trip to Thailand
During my summer of 2023, I traveled to Thailand on a service and cultural immersion trip. Throughout my three weeks there, I traveled to Bangkok, Chiang Mai, and Koh Samet. While in Bangkok, I taught 4th-6th grade students everyday for a week. We were responsible for daily lesson preparation and we learned how to teach successfully despite a language barrier and how to cultivate lessons that the students would be able to comprehend. This experience was challenging and truly eye opening seeing not only the impact on the students, but on their community as a whole. It was a surreal feeling that carried over throughout the rest of the trip as we spent time in nature, snorkeling and boating in Koh Samet, and volunteering at the Ran-Tong Save & Rescue Elephant Centre.
