As a Resident Assistant you have to learn how to remain patient and calm in difficult situations. As well as being mature and responsible when dealing with counseling and mediation. I had a chance to really improve my communication and time management skills during my time as a Senior Resident Assistant as well as a regular Resident Assistant. These skills also played a part in handling being a camp counselor. You have to develop strong interpersonal communication abilities that encourage fun while sustaining camp missions. I learned how to foster a fun and energetic Camp Counselor experienced in directing camp activities and helping school-aged children develop confidence and achieve life goals. Developing the skills to plan, execute and supervise activities including arts, sports and hikes took a little bit more time to develop. I had to be in so many places all the time, it was hard to keep track of everything. Just like anything, with enough time and effort you are able to develop and improve anything.
