• Obtains patient medical history and other documentation prior to the diagnostic procedure.
• Responsible in assisting the technologist in procedures such as CT guided coronary angiographies, ultrasound guided biopsies, drain placements and fluoroscopy guided lumbar punctures.
• Follows safety protocols at all times to minimize radiation and manages aseptic technique for patients in procedure room.
• Assists in the collection of lab specimens for microbiology and cytology.

Committee member and UBC representing home unit of NW5.

Attends monthly meetings in which each chair discusses any new implementation on their unit to better the patient experience.

Committee members vote on policies to review and approve for hospital wide care.

• Registered nurse caring for patients directly admitted from the Emergency Department or downgraded from the Neuro ICU. Patients with a wide variety of care, including post-surgical, neurological injuries and illnesses.
• Patient population includes acute and chronic neurologic deficits, management and monitoring patients with acute hemorrhagic bleeds/strokes, and management of post-surgical neurological patients.
• Job duties include performing assessments, admissions and multidisciplinary rounds with the care team.
• Skills include performing NIHSS assessments, telemetry interpretation, trach management for vented/non-vented patients.
• Safely administering medications, documenting appropriately and evaluating patient responses.

• Assists RN’s in providing basic nursing care to patients on a medical surgical/oncology unit; including vital signs, EKG’s, phlebotomy, and basic patient care within scope of practice.
• Promptly reports patient status changes to the RN.
• Assists patients with basic needs, such as eating, bathing and dressing.

• Assist patients with ADL's; such as bathing and feeding in scope of practice.
• Provide a line of communication with patients and the RN regarding patient status and changes in condition.
• Complete all assigned documentation during assigned shift
