Cared for patients in a perioperative setting. Most frequently, PACU. Recovering patients from anesthesia in a fast-paced environment. Maintaining airways, administering controlled intravenous medications, coordinating with anesthesia providers to maintain stability and safety of patients, and monitoring patients for signs of anesthesia-related side effects. On occasion, assisting in the operating room to position patients, gather needed materials, and assisting anesthesia with intubation. Floated to outpatient surgery center to assist in endoscopy procedures. Used previous ICU experience in critical care areas to assist during Covid.

Monitored intubated and critically ill patients vital signs and signs and symptoms of rapidly declining ARDS patients, pneumonia, hemodynamically unstable patients, etc. Assisted with intubation, administering required drugs, monitoring level of sedation and pain in intubated patients. Served as an advocate for patients and their families, addressing concerns and facilitating open lines of communication between healthcare providers and loved ones. Coordinating with multi-specialty physicians for streamlining patient care. Mentored new nursing staff in ICU-specific procedures, fostering professional growth and promoting a positive work environment.
