Work History

General Assembly

General Motors, GM
07.2023 - 10.2024
  • Maintained compliance with industry standards by staying informed of current regulations pertaining to general assembly procedures.
  • Streamlined assembly processes for increased productivity, utilizing time-saving methods and tools.
  • Improved team morale with effective communication and collaboration during assembly processes.
  • Completed routine maintenance tasks on equipment used throughout assembly projects; proactively identified potential issues before they could escalate into more significant problems affecting production output or timeline adherence negatively.
  • Executed assembly line operation to remove parts from in-line machines.
  • Ensured accurate assembly of products by closely adhering to specifications and guidelines provided.
  • Minimized errors in assembly by consistently following detailed blueprints and instructions provided.
  • Skilled use of various hand tools ensured precision and accuracy during assembly processes leading to fewer defects in finished products.
  • Assisted in training new employees on assembly procedures, contributing to a skilled and efficient workforce.
  • Demonstrated versatility within the team by cross-training on multiple stations along the assembly line.
  • Prevented delays in production schedule by quickly resolving any issues that arose during the assembly process.
  • Most recently I was working for General Motors Fort Wayne Assembly on their general assembly line building trucks. My daily tasks consisted of working with a variety of hydrologic guns, hand tools, hand drills, scanners, trace data, torque wrenches/tools and impact guns, in a very fast paced environment and team setting. In my position I had to be able to quickly train on new jobs at any given time without notice, be able to work on my own as well as with others when necessary; and most importantly follow safety procedures while also producing quality work. While working there I was also attending online classes in hopes of entering into their skilled trades apprenticeship program and have just recently completed my first semester for that through Penn foster with a 4.0 gpa in blueprint reading and shop arithmetic/math courses. As a temporary employee of GMFWA I did not have any sick days or vacation time and was there for 15 months before getting laid off with all of the other temporary workers due to a contract dispute, in those 15 months I did not miss any days, and was never late as both are considered the same thing for temporary employees and will cause a write up/strike that does not ever go away and results in being fired on the third strike. I say all of this to express how reliable I am and from the job description provided how qualified I am and what a good fit I believe I can be for your team.
