Shipboard Maintenance Welder

Serve as a repair and maintenance welder on-board a 300' dredging vessel operating in The Gulf of Mexico, as well as the Atlantic Coastline. Job duties and responsibilities including but not limited to; repair of leaking dredge pumping, fabrication projects as-required, perform critical welds to ship's structural components. Additionally, while working in a dry-dock period, was able to save the company over $50,000 by repairing the anchor housing assembly instead of using a third-party contractor. As the lead welder of the vessel, I also maintain a clean and organized work environment, minimizing hazards ad ensuring compliance with all safety regulations.

I served as a welder on-board a 900' drill ship working in the Gulf of Mexico. While working for the company, I performed repairs of various drilling equipment and tools, ensuring minimal down-time of the drilling department. I also performed fabrication projects, repairs to aging components and structures of the vessel. I also demonstrated versatility in vrious welding methods including MIG, TIG, Stick, and flux core welding techniques. I was also responsible for conducting thorough inventory of welding supplies and consumables and reordering as-needed.
