Work History

Operations Technician

Woodward, Inc.
Loves Park, USA
06.2021 - Current
  • Some of my job responsibilities include, but are not limited to, downloading and editing basic programs, adjusting machine offsets as needed, assembling tools, using computer programs to order gauges, recording my time, editing setup sheets, and IPI drawings.
  • Utilize measuring tools such as micrometers, calipers, Swedish gauges, drop gauges, indicators, Hi-Cal, Starrett, bench centers, plug gauges, and V-blocks.
  • Gives assistance to members with issues such as difficult setups, and part inspection.
  • Gives the first piece checkouts, makes IPI documents, performs gage sweeps, and lists to be sent down for calibration.
  • I cover for department 511 whenever our team lead is not present. This includes performing gauge sweeps, Tier 1 and Tier 2 metrics boards, 5S, find-it-fix-it, and ensuring every member has what they need to continue their work uninterrupted.
  • I report any Andons to be elevated so that they are resolved as soon as possible.
  • I am currently an operations technician. I operate the 1751 Mori Seiki CNC lathe, along with the 1262 Tong Tai, in department 511. I can also cover for the 1741 secondary lathe, if needed.
  • I initiated and participated in several projects within Department 511, such as IPI document modernization, ergonomic tooling drawers, and shop floor layouts. Many of the machines on the chip-cutting side now have up-to-date and accurate drawings. Tooling drawers being easy to access and organize is vital. And finally, I worked with the CI manager for help with shop floor markings.
  • I was chosen for a 6-month CI support project position to assist with 518's new machines and processes. I would make IPI's, setup sheets, flip charts, and tool maps. All of these would correspond with the part's Wintool mapping.
