Hospital Corpsman

  • Operational hours:

MON, WED, FRI: 0930-1600 ; TUES, THURS: 0800-1600

***Works one weekend of every month between hours of 0615-1600***

  • Prepare assigned personnel and units for mobilization, ensuring maximum readiness and operational support to Joint and Navy Command world-wide.
  • Manage, train, and provide administrative and logistical support to over 364 reservists assigned to 17 units.
  • Responsible for maintaining medical department requirements such as: medical administration, medical requirements and training, dental requirements and training, Service Treatment Records (STRs) management, STRs/ANACOMP (Electronic Archive Record Management System) manager, injury case manager, daily immunization refrigerator and freezer checks and daily testing of Sensaphone Monitoring System, immunization inventory, medical supply, medical surveillance.
  • Held a position as an alternate building manager in attaining a safe work environment for all member's within the building. Responsible of documenting and putting in repair orders for all facilities owned and operated by NRC Corpus Christi.


  • Held a position as a Fire Warden for Navy Reserve Center Corpus Christi ensuring all fire extinguishers and emergency protocols were being adhered to. Maintains the monthly inspections of over 20 fire extinguishers and a inspection ready status.
  • Responsible as the command NDEA (Emergency Defense Travel Systems Authorization) to build and submit authorizations for reserve members, allowing them to receive ticketed traveling and complete their mission.
  • Held a position of Command Duty Officer for physical and telephonic duties while having zero discrepancies during the period of duty.
  • Assisted USMC/USN Mortuary Affairs in the preparation and inspection of remains of a former U.S. Marine Corps pilot w/ honors.
  • Administered blood draws, immunizations, and check-ups for reserve members over the span of 4 years of service.
  • Monitored vital signs and documented temperature, pulse and blood pressure to assess patient condition.
  • Manage, File, and Maintain medical, dental, and deployment records for 218 reservists, excluding the 146 Naval Reserve Pilots taken care of by the Naval Health Clinic Corpus Christi.
  • Mentored 3 Junior Sailors on the collection of blood draws, vaccinations; ultimately increasing the commands medical readiness.
  • Communicating w/ member's, co-workers, and region-wide affiliates to ensure a smooth and well-executed process.
  • Flexible practices within off-duty hours being able to assist reservists, and region wide affiliates and higher echelon commands.
