I have learned valuable life skills such as responsibility, patience, and time management through working with various project horses. Ashley McKenzie (owner of Silver Wind) has taught me how to work with horses safely, and to teach them new skills such as jumping and desensitizing over the years that I have grown at the stables (since the start of my high school freshman year). I have also helped out around the stables through:

• Completing daily horse chores (cleaning stalls, filling waters, making feed and hay, and turning horses in and out morning/evening)
• Caught horses and helped the farrier manage them during necessary hoof trims
• Cleaned walkways and tack rooms from cobwebs and dirt to make the environment cleaner for both horses and other riders.
• Helped rehab one of my project horses in the past (Oriana) with PEMF, daily walks, grooming, and have been present when Dr. Owens has performed chiropractic work on her (which has been another experience that has inspired me to become a veterinarian in the future).
