  • As a hostess, my job consisted of greeting all customers with a smile, and seating tables in the correct rotation to ensure each server has an equal opportunity.
  • I also helped clean off tables and managed excessive waitlist times on busy nights.
  • As for serving, I had many more tasks. Engaging in conversations with customers was a big part of this job. This allowed me to connect with them on a deeper level, and ensure each guest has a great experience.
  • I would also inform guests of the daily specials and popular menu items. Learning the menu inside and out helped me upsell, and made customers feel confident with what they were ordering.
  • This job also consisted of taking accurate food and drink orders, handling money accurately, collecting dirty dishes, and cashing out customers at the end of the night.
  • Along with these tasks, I also had plenty of closing side work to do at the end of the night. This helped me become better at multitasking and managing time better.

  • As an Ice Cream Artist, I had to learn every dessert on the menu in order to make them fast and efficiently.
  • I learned how to scoop ice cream in different sizes, and how to add toppings in a precise way. I was also trained on how to serve ice cream in a cone, and keep it sturdy.
  • For this job, customer service played a big role. Management was very strict about greeting all customers as soon as they came in the door, and giving them a perfect experience so they would leave a good review.
  • The closing side work at the end of the night was to break down all ice cream machines and clean them. Wash all appliances used that shift, clean counters and tables, and finally sweeping and mopping the entire restaurant.
