  • As a Postpartum Registered Nurse in Women and Infants department I get the opportunity to take care of both mothers and babies immediately after they deliver. During this time we perform full head to toe assessments on both mom and assist in breastfeeding needs, formula feeding needs, diaper changes, emotional breakdowns, and occasional very ill mothers. I Implement care plans for patient treatment after assessing physician medical regimens. Different tasks I perform during my shift include testing and lab draws on baby and mother, IV insertion, post- op care on fresh c-sections.
