Hazardous Material Handler
- Safely load, unload, transfer, and handle bulk hazardous chemicals in accordance with company procedures and OSHA/environmental regulations.
- Operate pumps, valves, hoses, loading arms, tanks, and other chemical transfer equipment.
- Monitor chemical transfer operations, tank levels, pressures, temperatures, and flow rates to ensure safe and accurate handling.
- Perform inspections of tanks, hoses, connections, valves, and transfer equipment to identify leaks, damage, or unsafe conditions.
- Follow Safety Data Sheets (SDS), PPE requirements, hazardous-material handling procedures, and emergency response protocols.
- Conduct chemical sampling, labeling, documentation, and inventory checks as required.
- Maintain accurate records of chemical receipts, transfers, shipments, and usage.
- Respond appropriately to spills, leaks, alarms, and other hazardous-material incidents while following established emergency procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe work area and communicate potential hazards or equipment issues to supervisors and operations personnel.
- Work closely with operators, maintenance personnel, truck drivers, and other plant personnel to ensure safe and efficient chemical handling operations.
