I have 34 years in the automotive sales and service. All here in SW Iowa. I have filled multiple roles being employed in a small business atmosphere.
Before taking my position at Select Motors I worked with the Dave Edwards dealerships where I achieved awards for customer satisfaction, and top sales. I left simply because I had a family and was driving 1 hour to and from work everyday. The opportunity became available in Shenandoah just a short 5 minute drive from home. This was a great opportunity to manage a small GM franchise. This dealership was part of the GM reorganization in 2009. I had opportunities to take more elaborate positions, but was raising a family and involved in the community everything just fit.
So I decided to live the dream and became a business owner. I purchased Select Motors and its provided a comfortable living, but certain changes that are on the horizon in our business have me thinking outside the box.
I am a person of high character and loyalty. I stayed at my positions to raise my family. I have 4 independent adult children and a grandfather of 3. I began serving my community at the age of 19 serving on our local Fire and Rescue department retiring in 2018. I began a new role serving on our city council since 2008 and I am currently the city's' Mayor.
My strengths is my experience in the automotive field. Not just the sales side, but the business side and the ability to show dealer principles new revenue opportunities with long term growth.
