Zipline Guide

  • Gave a 10-minute speech explaining each step of the journey as well as the dangers and inherent risks of participation at the beginning of each tour.
  • Individually strapped guests into their harnesses to ensure each person was safe and secure before every ascent to the top of the mountain.
  • Listed facts about the wildlife and surrounding area, answered any questions guests had, and made casual conversation to instill a fun, friendly environment throughout the tour.
  • Was responsible for the lives of every guest on my tour; strapped individuals’ harnesses into the zipline directly, and gave a secondary safety speech prior to riding the first zipline.
  • Executed dozens of rescues in which a small person or child was stuck on the zipline and had to be retrieved from the line and brought to the landing platform.
  • Communicated extensively with other guides to understand where other tours were within the course, to communicate problems with managers, or to learn any important information about what was happening.
  • Cleaned and organized gear including guests’ harnesses, helmets, guide harnesses, etc.
  • Occasionally checked the entire course before the start of the day to ensure everything was set and ready for the first tour to come through.
