  • While working as a Sheetmetal Mechanic at Huntington Ingalls, one responsibility was reading Blueprints correctly to make sure everything measured out correctly for the interior of the ship
  • Using power tools and hand tools daily while on the job was a necessity
  • While working with HII, it was very important to get the job done in a timely manner while maintaining the highest level of safety
  • While working as a joiner it required structural welding and fitting tasks daily.

PROCESS OPERATOR

  • Process Operators at Oleo-X are expected to know the processes and know the equipment within the process
  • Operators such as I unload/load tanker trucks, railcars, and prepare for barge loading/offloading
  • We are forklift, manlift, and yard spotter trained
  • At Oleo-X operators such as I were trained to operate the front end loader\backhoe where we loaded various materials daily
  • I was trained on the overhead cranes to lift loads critical to the process
  • Operators are responsible to line up valves, add chemicals if needed, check sight glasses and manual temperature/pressure gauges throughout the day
  • We are responsible for unit rounds, tanker transfer sheets, and signing off permits
  • We also pull samples for the Lab and run manual PH’s
  • Operators are expected to keep their unit clean and orderly
  • Safety is a top priority at Oleo-X
  • Always on the job we wear hard hats, steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, and respiratory protection when needed.

  • Working for Core we were responsible for pulling and replacing hydraulic arms, shears, breaks, rolls, bearings, tables, and numerous other equipment part of the hot strip and pickle lines
