The Asbestos Abatement Project Supervisor is responsible for overseeing and managing asbestos removal projects to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, including OSHA, EPA, NESHAP, and AHERA standards. This role involves supervising abatement crews, maintaining safety protocols, and ensuring that all work is performed in accordance with project specifications. The supervisor conducts job site assessments, ensures the use of proper containment and decontamination procedures, and oversees the correct handling and disposal of hazardous waste. They are responsible for maintaining accurate project documentation such as daily logs, air monitoring results, and waste manifests, while also communicating effectively with clients, regulatory agencies, and other stakeholders. The supervisor provides on-site training, ensures the correct use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and manages project schedules and budgets. Candidates must have a valid asbestos supervisor license, a current medical clearance for respirator use, and several years of hands-on experience in asbestos abatement. Strong leadership, organizational, and communication skills are essential. The position requires physical stamina, the ability to work in hazardous environments, and availability for travel and irregular hours as needed.
