Dear Hiring Committee,
I am excited to apply for the position of Middle School Youth Minister at St. Catharine of Sienna. Accompanying middle school students as they grow into disciples of Jesus Christ has been a passion of mine for many years. I would be grateful for the opportunity to give back to this parish family, which has welcomed me so warmly and generously in just two short years.
When I was sixteen, I had a powerful encounter with Jesus that changed the direction of my life. I became deeply involved in the middle school youth program at my parish, running small groups and doing contact work. That experience was so impactful that it led me to Franciscan University, where I studied Theology and Catechetics with a concentration in Youth Ministry. My goal was always to become a middle school youth minister one day. Throughout college and beyond, I have continued serving young people in various capacities — as a counselor for middle and high school students at Catholic summer camps, as a Residence Director working with young adults at Franciscan University, and most recently as an assistant catechist with Catechesis of the Good Shepherd.
I truly believe that if young people encounter the person of Jesus Christ in middle school and become missionary disciples in high school, their faith will be far better equipped to withstand the crisis of faith that faces young adults and beyond.
I was delighted to learn that this position is part-time. As a mother of two little children, I am unable to commit to a full-time role. I am confident that my education and ministry experience have prepared me well to fulfill this role and to walk with the young people of St. Catharine of Siena Parish as they come to know, love, and follow Jesus.
Thank you for considering my application. I would welcome the opportunity to speak with you further about how I can serve this parish community.
Sincerely,
Cameron Ware
