During my time at the University of Kentucky, I had the privilege of being a member of Sigma Nu fraternity. Being part of this brotherhood was an incredibly rewarding experience that allowed me to grow both personally and professionally. One of the most fulfilling aspects of my involvement was participating in our many philanthropy events, which strengthened our sense of community and dedication to giving back. Among the numerous philanthropic efforts we organized, my favorite was DanceBlue. DanceBlue is a student-run philanthropy at the University of Kentucky that raises funds and awareness in the fight against pediatric cancer while providing crucial support for patients and families affected by it. The organization was founded to honor the final request of Jarrett Mynear: "do something to help the Clinic." Taking part in DanceBlue was an unforgettable experience. The 24-hour no sitting, no sleeping dance marathon tested our endurance, but it was all for an incredible cause. Seeing the resilience of the children and families impacted by pediatric cancer was both humbling and inspiring. The event created a powerful sense of unity among students, reminding us of the importance of service and the impact we can make together.
