Student-focused instructor committed to building instructional experiences that develop critical thinking and communication skills both in speaking and writing. I like to guide students to find their own answers through inquiry and discovery. I also encourage creativity in demonstrating their learning.
Classes Taught: 7th Grade English, 7th-9th ELL English, Language Support, 9th Grade World History, 8th Grade English, 8th Grade US History, 8th Grade HiCap US History
I have taught in several different teaching modalities: co-teaching, independent teaching, mentor teaching, and language and English support class teaching. Currently I am co-teaching an 8th grade US History class (early years, 1600 - 1860s) that is structured as a research project-based class.
I have experience in (and always working to improve):
I am a court volunteer who is a trained advocate for children whose parents are going through a contentious custody battle. I interview all care givers and review all legal documents to create a proposal for a custody arrangement that is in the best interest of the child/children involved.
Supported my school district as a volunteer in many roles.
