  • Coordinates studies ensuring optimal sample processing and meeting of study specifications.
  • Performs histology laboratory work including embedding (cryo-embedding and paraffin); sectioning (frozen and fresh tissue, paraffin); immunohistochemical and H&E staining; solution preparation and solution transfers (4% Fresh PFA, 10% formalin PBS, Sodium Azide, Sucrose in 1xPBS), slide scanning and image delineations as directed.
  • Knowledge to identify antibodies (biomarkers) (hosts/Alexa Fluors). Identifies Brain Regions while cutting and embedding.
  • Generates detailed histology protocols used for sample processing.
  • Performs routine scans on automated slide scanner and ensures correct data processing from scanner to Dropbox.
