• Coordinates studies ensuring optimal sample processing and meeting of study specifications.
• Performs histology laboratory work including embedding (cryo-embedding and paraffin); sectioning (frozen and fresh tissue, paraffin); immunohistochemical and H&E staining; solution preparation and solution transfers (4% Fresh PFA, 10% formalin PBS, Sodium Azide, Sucrose in 1xPBS), slide scanning and image delineations as directed.

• Hands on experience with primary cell culture protocol. Material asepsis, euthanasia by cervical dislocation, tissue collection ( embryo ‘E17’), cell dissociation and plating, culture maintenance and treatments.

• Experience with immortalized cell culture: Thawing, preparation, propagating, maintenance, medium preparation and change, and freezing (U87, MEF, 3T3).

• Animal health, welfare and euthanasia (Wistar/ Black 6 ).

•Tissue collection: Extraction, dehydration, infiltration and inclusion of tissues (brain, heart, liver, kidneys, lungs), and preparation of epoxy resin for routine histological examination.

•H&E and Toluidine Blue preparation and tissue staining.
