Duties I have performed during my career at the Sheriff's Office;
Correctional Officer, daily security and safety of the Jail and inmates.
Promoted to Jail Deputy/Supervisor, scheduling the work hours of my shift with the least amount of preventable overtime. Security and Safety of the jailed inmates and employees at all times during my shift, various clerical duties, and all tasks that were assigned by the Jail Administrator.
Transferred to the Animal Shelter as Assistant Dog Warden. I was responsible for the day to day operations of the kennels. Duties varied from supervising inmate workers while cleaning and disinfecting kennels and cages. Learning the demeanor of all dogs and cats. Day to day responsibilities of the paperwork, reports, and the handling of cash. The other duties responsible for included handling animal cruelty cases and other calls about animal complaints. During my tenure I with the help of many people rescued 241 dogs from a large puppy mill.
I was then transferred back to the Sheriff's Office until i was given the current position that i currently am serving.
Transportation Deputy, responsibilities include scheduling and executing the time management of the transport of inmates (County and Federal) to and from court appearances, medical appointments, dental appointments, transfers to mental health facilities, drug and alcohol treatment centers, forensic evaluations and any other transport ordered or requested. This position requires that we travel out of state to pick up individuals who have opsconded Law enforcement in our county. We then escort them back to the jail to be held until their court date.
