Sedation and analgesia management (propofol, dexmedetomidine, ketamine, fentanyl, hydromorphone) with RASS/CPOT targeting
Pre-op optimization and immediate post-op ICU admission of general surgery, thoracic, vascular, ENT, surgical oncology, and transplant patients.
Code participation: ACLS leadership, difficult airway support, push-dose pressors, post-ROSC management, and targeted temperature management coordination.
Renal and metabolic management: CRRT prescription adjustments with nephrology, electrolyte replacement protocols, DKA/HHS management, and lactic acidosis correction.
Precepting and leadership: orienting new ICU nurses, charge nurse shifts, interprofessional rounding, and quality improvement projects
MTP activation, component therapy selection (PRBCs/FFP/platelets/cryoprecipitate), and transfusion reaction management.
Assisting with RSI, fiberscopic intubations; placing ultrasound-guided peripheral IVs; assisting with central/arterial line placement.
