Clinical Experience Of Acute Care (Level 1 Trauma)

  • Assisted patients in completing functional tasks such as (transfers, simulated car transfers, sit-to-stands, and ambulation) to help with their transition from Acute Care to home. The patient population included kidney transplants, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injuries, and multiple poly ortho trauma patients with cervical precautions, spinal precautions, hip precautions, and weight-bearing restrictions.
  • Educated patients with tactile and verbal cueing of use of assistive devices with patients of different diagnoses such as (Dementia, Subdural Hemorrhages, Schizophrenia Subarachnoid Hemorrhage
  • Provided patient education on the importance of Physical Therapy regarding the benefits of it during the rehabilitation process.
  • Documented treatments and therapy sessions for efficiency and shared among appropriate team members regarding patient care.
