Home Licensed Childcare Mentor

  • I was asked to become a Mentor for Childcare providers on Oahu by PATCH. PATCH is a childcare referral agency in Hawaii who parents call for assistance seeking care for their child. This organization will send out a list of licensed providers that displays how training the provider accomplished, what ages they accept, is its a home or apt, where its located, etc.
  • I was asked by PATCH to be a mentor for potential providers who seeks advice about education, home setup, one on one guidance and support in their exciting choice of profession.
  • This was the most exciting challenge for me being with other providers and getting to see and understand their ideas to make this sometimes difficult job fresh again.
  • There was no compensation for doing this with PATCH. And i did it for almost 2 years. It ended when the lead person who began this idea left the organization.
