This has given me a broad range of skills and experience, and equipped me to adapt to the ever-changing facets of the marine industry. A background in both deck and engineering has provided me with the expertise to comprehend and contribute to new construction and refits, and the ability to tackle day-to-day challenges effectively. A strong commitment to team building and fostering a positive work environment underscores the importance of crew longevity. Summary

For 15 years I have been honored to serve as captain for the Just J's program. Over time the vessels have grown and the roles have varied, but I have consistently striven to maintain excellence and deliver an exceptional experience for the owners and guests.


Roles

  • Senior Rotational Captain- 2/16-Present. Managing all aspects of the yacht operation in the Mediterranean, Caribbean, Bahamas and USA. As an internally-managed program, I was responsible for every facet of the operation, including itinerary development, crew hiring and management, regulatory and Flag State compliance, accounting and payroll, and vessel maintenance periods. During this time I also oversaw multiple high-speed tenders, ranging from 40'-60', that traveled with the yacht.
  • Build Captain-1/15-2/16 Owners representative for new yacht construction; overseeing production teams, tracking timelines and budget, and ensuring quality standards.
  • Senior Rotational Captain- 5/12-1/15 After taking delivery of a new 47m Delta, I expanded the itineraries to include successful seasons in New England, Bermuda, Bahamas and FL.
  • Rotational Captain-3/11-5/12 Joined the Just J's team as Co-Captain of a 37m Sunseeker, operating on US East Coast.

M/Y Cherosa- 47m (153') Swiftship, 7 Crew, Sept. 2006-Mar. 2011

Managed a private yacht operating in Florida, Bahamas and New England with liveaboard owners for much of the time.

  • Oversaw major mechanical refit and complete vessel refinishing to Icomia standards.
  • Coordinated 10-year class survey.
  • Developed operational and maintenance budgets with a focus on maximum efficiency and owner value.

M/Y Seas the Moment, 25m (81') Cheoy Lee, Feb 2005-June 2006
  • Directed a busy private yacht operating in the Bahamas, Florida and New England. Responsible for maintenance and repair of vessel and her complement of craft including a 32' center console, 2 PWC, and a 17' tender.

M/Y Kayana, 123' Vosper Thornycroft, 7 Crew, May 2004- Jan. 2005
  • Captain of expedition yacht in Alaska. Responsible for relations with charter guests, ensuring exemplary service and outstanding customer satisfaction. Managed all aspects of voyage planning, crew hiring and training, budgeting, and vessel safety. Coordinated itineraries and logistics for voyages to Mexico, South America and Galapagos.

Marine Operations Manager/Captain

Isles of Shoals Steamship Company, Mar. 2001- May 2004
  • Managed passenger vessel company in Portsmouth, NH providing private charters, dinner cruises, ferry service, and whale watching for up to 350 guests. Trained captains, supervised vessel maintenance, safety programs, and maintained USCG compliance.

M/V Wilderness Adventurer, Glacier Bay Cruise Line, Oct 1999- Feb. 2001
  • Captain of a 156' adventure cruise ship with 72 guests and 24 crewmembers. Established itineraries, implemented SMS, IMO and SOLAS safety program and organized operations in Alaska and Baja Mexico. Oversaw total refit of the vessel.

Chief Engineer

M/Y Big Eagle, 172' Mie Shipyards, 9 Crew, Oct. 1998- Oct. 1999
  • Responsible for maintenance and repair of diesel propulsion, electrical, plumbing, and fire systems on a 172' charter motor yacht. Managed haul-out and shipyard activities.

Engineer / Second Mate

M/V Caribbean Prince, A.C.C.L., 16 Crew, Sept. 1996-Oct. 1998
  • Executed all maintenance and repair aboard a 156' small cruise ship. Stood helm watches and performed navigational duties for voyages in Canada, USA, Belize, Guatemala, and Honduras.
