• 24 bed inpatient BMT unit, responsibilities included initial assessments upon admission, reassessments as indicated by change in patient status, administration of stem cell transplants, chemotherapy/immunotherapy, monitoring for adverse reactions, consulting with physicians from multiple specialties, coordinating patient care and in-hospital transportation to and from necessary ancillary services, participating in goals of care discussions, implementing safe discharge plans to home and facilities of lower acuity. Assisting with bedside procedures, conducting patient education, while managing illness and treatment-related symptoms.
• Proficient in central line care, peripheral IV placement, and port access/de-access.

• Administration of chemotherapy and biotherapy. Proficient in administering CART therapy, allogeneic and autologous stem cell transplants. Skills mostly comprised of providing education to patient and caregiver on pre- and post-transplant care, trajectory of cell counts. Critical thinking is required in monitoring daily lab values, managing infusion reactions, safely administering blood transfusions, analyzing treatment plans, and collaborating with the interdisciplinary team. Expert in management of central lines, oncologic emergencies, evaluation of post-transplant complications including but not limited to infections and chronic/acute GVHD.
