Dedicated, compassionate, and reliable Licensed Practical Nurse (since 2006) holding a Multi-State NLC license with extensive experience in ICU (2 years), LTAC (2 years), Float nursing to various departments (6 months: ER, Burn Unit, Medical, Surgical, Postpartum, Nursery, Psychiatric, Telemetry, and Rehab), IV Therapy, Ventilator Patient Care, Home Health Wound Care and Respiratory Nursing, Ortho/Stroke/Neuro Nursing, Nursing Home Care, and Hospice Care Nursing. Maintains composure and making decisions in fast-paced, unpredictable and stressful environments, while working closely with doctors to care for patients with diverse medical needs.
Office Closed: Physician retired due to health issues.
• Prepares case files and Disability Benefits Questionnaires (DBQ) assigned in the client portal.
• Reviews and bookmarks medical records and creates a synopsis in order to answer medical opinion questions, if needed, based on the veteran's medical history.
• Assists the medical provider during a scheduled appointment of a veteran by:
• Accessing, navigating, and preparing different apps in the medical provider's computer in the exam room prior to the scheduled appointment.
• Transcribing the medical history based on the veteran's answers to the questions in the DBQ.
• Completes all the sections of the DBQ spreadsheets after each appointment.
• Meets with medical providers to discuss each assigned case in order to determine the final diagnosis per DBQ and for approval of medical opinions.
• Transfers data from the DBQ spreadsheet to the client portal.
• Submission of DBQs in the client portal.
• Answering queries/addendum reports from the client's QAs.
• Coordinates with the medical providers and other team members regarding the scheduled appointments per day.
