  • Investigate reports of abuse, neglect, self-neglect, abandonment or exploitation involving adult vulnerable. Conduct investigation interviews with non-English speaking individuals, with the use of a translator.
  • Conduct investigation interviews with verbally, visually or hearing impaired individuals, with the assistance of an interpreter.
  • Provide casework to vulnerable adults, from different cultural backgrounds, with complex personal and social problems. Act as a liaison between the individuals who have a legal right to make decisions regarding a vulnerable adults care. Represent the vulnerable adult in legal proceedings such as, Guardianship, Power of Attorney, Conservator, Payee, and etc. Maintain accurate and reliable (confidential) records which have the potential of being used as legal testimony in court. All records were maintained using Microsoft Office (Ms Word, Excel, and Outlook). Follow Alaska Statue AS 47.24, regarding the safety of vulnerable adults.
  • Follow standard operating procedures and policies, regarding the job responsibilities. Work closely with other state units (Long-Term Care Ombudsman, Assisted Living Licensing, Medicaid Fraud, etc.) to organize/conduct joint unit investigations, regarding the care of vulnerable adults.
  • Assist in the closure of adult facilities, as well as the immediate relocation of the residents effected.
  • Respond to multiple phone calls within 24 hours or less, regarding the safety of vulnerable adults.
