I was the lead medic on an off shore platform. I was allergic to their floor cleaner. I stated that to my immediate supervisor and was told to try and work it out since they were the contractor. I tried for several days getting worse each day. Finally I could not work I was 2 -3 word sentece when I spoke I knew I was in respiratory failure. Was taken off the rig and started home. Made it to Atlanta where I was hospitalized and deemed disabled due to COPD and Diabetes from steroid induced. I have been getting stronger and now feel that I can return to the job market looking for work as a Lead Medic
