The Western Pacific Truck School's Tractor/Trailer Operator Program is 160 hours of classroom and field training on equipment commonly used in the trucking industry. Upon completion and obtaining a CDL, graduates are prepared to become professional entry-level truck drivers. The course includes driving in various conditions, safe operation of equipment, defensive driving, DOT safety rules review, and evaluations from professional instructors.
This work process description outlines approximately 3000 hours of training in general skills, tools/equipment/materials, safety, environmental remediation, building construction, and heavy/highway construction. Specific skills covered include asbestos, hazardous waste, and lead abatement, as well as concrete work, landscaping, carpentry ,pipe laying ,heavy equipment ,blue print reading and asphalt paving.
