Served in the US Army providing twenty years of distinguished, honorable service to our nation. Performed technical functions for sixteen years within the Military Human Resources Functional Community with a high level of expertise, with emphasis on Training and Development, Human Capital Management, and the preparation and processing of Executive Correspondence. Honored to supervise and lead Soldiers and civilian employees individually and in team formations; repeatedly to mission success, while assigned to combatant and non-combatant theaters around the world. I am currently working for Military Personnel Division, Department of Human Resources, Fort Belvoir, VA, 14 November 2016. I am personally motivated by diverse challenges and will provide results-driven solutions that support the mission. My proven communication ability paired with my analytical, problem solving, and reasoning skills are added assets to any organization.

Personnel Actions Service Chief

  • Review and approve DD Form 214s and DD Form 215s for Soldiers that have Retired, Chaptered, and Expiration Term of Service.
  • Conduct quarterly briefing with the Garrison Commander on status of the Army Sponsorship program along with making recommendation to improve our current 93% sponsorship rating. Conduct quarterly briefing with Fort Belvoir organizations as well as mission partner S-1 sections about changes to Reassignment, Transition, In/Out processing, and the implementation of IPPS-A. Serves as the Department of Human Resources representative for the monthly newcomers briefing.
  • As the lead for the Fort Belvoir IPPS-A team, my duties include training, approving access request, providing updates and changes within the system to all organizations within the Fort Belvoir area of operations. I have processed numerous access request, personnel access request, updated Soldier records, and separated over 300 Soldiers that needed to be removed from organization Readiness Roster Report.
  • Has processed over 13,000 actions in IPPS-A consisting of Personnel Action Request, IPPS-A access request, Off/On boarding of Soldiers, Civilians and Contractors along with Direct Hire of Soldiers, Civilians, and Contractors. Conducted Hands-on-Training with 30 tenants’ units to 3 partner units including the Director of Human Resources at Fort Walker. Served as the Emergency Operation Center and Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System representative for the past eight years.
  • Tracked accountability of Soldiers, Civilians and Contractors for strength management to include the tracking of COVID-19 cases.

Memorial Affairs Coordinator

  • Successfully processed 1000 Military Honor request, which required coordination with civilian funeral homes and military honor teams within the Virginia and West Virginia area.
  • Briefed the Installation Commander and Human Resources Director quarterly and the number of Military Funeral Honors, tracked accountability for pay purpose for the National Guard, and uploaded over 400 Military Honors requests in the G-1 INSCOM Military Honors System.
  • Served as the Department of Human Resources, Emergency Operation Management representative. Participated in eight training exercises, completed six mandatory training classes. Responsibilities include the Automatic Local Evaluation in Real-Time system and the Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System.
  • Prepare quarterly reports for processed mission requests, brief family members on benefits and entitlements. Prepared and processed over 50 benefits and entitlement packets for signature and submission to Army Defense Finance and Accounting Service.

  • Helped Officers and Enlisted Soldiers put their retirement packets together. Briefed everyone on an individual basis to ensure the Soldier understood the memo/4187 retirement request; to include how to determine the number of Transition Leave days they will have and the two-way to Permissive Temporary Duty Leave and how would affect their final out date. Setup counseling sessions with Soldiers to explain separation entitlements such as retirement pay, medical and commissary benefits, and Retirement Identification Cards for them and any benefits their spouse and or dependent may also qualify for. Briefed on their working DD Form 214 and updating Officer Record Brief and Enlisted Record Brief to ensure complete accuracy.
  • Informed Soldiers about the benefit of signing up for LinkedIn, USAJOBS, AMVET, and Talent Staff Management, and various other sites that helped with job searching, free resume writing classes, and upcoming job fairs. Helped Soldiers schedule appointments with outside entities such as the Veterans of Foreign Wars to go over their medical records before submitting their benefits request packet.
  • Reviews and verifies requests for orders, recommendations for promotions and promotions packets, and certificates. Reviews and verifies requests for reassignments, training, retirements, and other requests for personnel actions.
  • Serves as Executive Assistant for a member of the Senior Executive Service and manages the Executive Officers calendar and make travel arrangements. Tracks and processes Executive-level correspondence; conducts Quality Control Reviews; edits administrative correspondence, memorandums, awards, leave, and performance evaluations. Coordinates Weekly Staff Meetings. Responsible for Senior Executive daily schedule that consists of conferences, counseling sessions for personnel evaluated, and coordination and setup of Army Resiliency Directorate events.
  • Staff Action Control Officer: Received and tracked all Executive correspondence from the Chief of Staff Office (approximately 100 separate items). Researched, briefed, and distributed to the appropriate department and ensured all correspondence meet their suspense date.
  • Security/Safety Officer: Established Standard Operating Procedures for evacuation procedures in case of an emergency for two Federal Government buildings. Trained staff on security operations; configured Shelter-In-Place and coordinated with Life Secure Emergency Solution to provide medical supplies and 3 days of food and water for 109 Army Resiliency Directorate personnel and an Emergency Evacuation Plan for 2 Federal Government buildings with an occupancy level of 700 personnel to include a plan for disabled personnel.

Human Resource Manager

  • Performance Evaluation System: Maintained Officer and Enlisted performance ratings, coordinated awards, performance evaluations, and promotion recommendations.
  • Maintained evaluation tracker to include rating chain, date of previous and next evaluation. Tracked the date evaluation was submitted and processed to soldiers OMPF.
  • Staff Action Control Officer: Received and tracked all Executive correspondence from the Chief of Staff Office (approximately 500 separate items). Research briefed and distributed to the appropriate department and ensured all correspondence meet their suspense date.
  • Army Disaster Personnel Accountability and Assessment System: Responsible for the accounting, assessment, management, and monitoring of the recovery process for personnel and families affected in the case of a widespread, catastrophic event. Conducted quarterly tests to ensure the system was functioning properly and to ensure the accuracy of the soldier’s information. Trained 63 personnel on the system.
  • Defense Travel System: Reviewed and processed all travel vouchers, under the Defense Travel System (DTS) for lodging, incidental expenses, and per diem.
  • Briefed Senior Executive on upcoming events, the arrival of incoming personnel, and departing staff. Setup entrance and exit interviews.
  • Wounded Warrior Internship Program: Recruited Soldiers from the Wounded Warrior Program to fill vacant positions on the HQDA Staff located at the Pentagon. Arranged job fairs, coordinated with leadership from 13 different organizations to set up interviews, developed Standard Operating Procedures for the program, and job reclassification training. Met with college representative Maryland University and set up a scholarship program for wound warriors.
  • Responsible for the Disposal of outdated computer equipment and the inventorying of new equipment.

Human Resource Manager

  • Responsible for running a quarterly report to brief commanders on the status of Soldiers within 180 days of separation from the Army, along with the financial, medical, dental, and legal status of the Soldiers within the 180-day window.
  • Successfully helped 25 Soldiers out-process through the Early Separation Program for personnel with job offers and planning to attend college. Ensured Soldiers that were going to ETS or being Chaptered out of the Army understood what entitlement to expect and how long they would maintain certain benefits depending on the nature of their case.
  • Responsible for legal review of policy documents, financial review, leave, personnel support actions, awards, deployment, and the redeployment of over 500 Soldiers. Established postal operations in Iraq and Afghanistan to include training soldiers and civilians on becoming Mail Handlers, set up and secured area for pickup and delivery 1500lbs. of mail a month. Oversaw the Organization Strength Management Report about medical, dental, finance, and legal issues regarding Soldiers and deployment.
  • Travel Pay Agent: Created, processed, and executed over 800 Temporary Duty (TDY) assignments for Soldiers on two deployments. Ensured all Travel Vouchers were completed and processed within 72 hours.

Sets employee performance standards and prepares normal evaluations of performance. Advised employees of policies, procedures, and goals of management as they relate to the work of the Team.
  • Serves as the subject matter expert on military personnel issues to include placement and utilization of incoming military personnel, officer and enlisted promotions, military evaluation reports and rating schemes, officer professional development and internal operating procedures relative to military officer personnel management and administration, present and future organizational structuring and staffing relative to military officer personnel. Performs a variety of personnel management tasks associated with the administration of military personnel reassignments, performance evaluations, awards/medals, promotions, requisitions, leave, finance, and career management programs. As required, processes all military nomination packages for IG duty.
  • Personnel Strength and Operations Branch: Responsible for the direct supervision and training of 27 personnel. Responsible for eight Sections which included reassignments, Enlisted and Officer Promotions, actions, awards, Strength Management, casualty assistance, and funeral detail. Provided personnel services to U.S. Attorney General’s Office (USAG) and over 35 organizations throughout the Army.
  • Transition Section: Conducted weekly and monthly briefings for personnel separating or retiring from Military service. Responsible for screening Military personnel files, discharges, and allied documents. Responsible for obtaining information and preparation of Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty (DD Form 214) worksheet, determine the type and authority for separation, maintains regulations, messages, and standard operating procedures.
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing Manager: Develop, coordinate, and delivered effective substance abuse avoidance education and training within the unit. Assist with in briefing all new personnel regarding Army regulations relating to alcohol and other drug abuse and functions and services designed to combat alcohol and drug abuse. Coordinate and conduct the urinalysis testing program where soldiers are tested randomly on a monthly basis.
  • Better Opportunity for Single Soldier: Coordinated bi-weekly meetings with the Installation Sergeant Major to address issues Soldiers living in barracks were having such as stop signs around the barracks creating traffic.
