• Effectively cares for patients in Pre-op, Phase I & Phase II of perioperative care
• Implements medication and IV administration, catheter insertion, and airway management.

• Takes and records vital statistics of patients to assure readiness for surgical procedure
• Initiate IVs and ensure patients are informed about procedure
• Assesses patients’ post-operative condition, monitoring vital signs and other measurements of progress to
  determine if patient is meeting discharge criteria
• Accurately records all findings in patient charts
• Answers patient questions and provides patient and family comfort
• Monitors patients for condition changes, reporting any changes to physician
• Performs intervention duties during postoperative emergencies

• Handles PACU Phase I and Phase II post-procedure care covering all surgical specialties/procedures in a
  Level 1 Trauma designated facility
• Performs post patient assessment, review of history, discharge planning, and review of diagnostic studies
  with appropriate follow through and physician consultation.
• Manages post operative pain and surgical sites
• Educates patient and responsible guardian of post-operative instruction, including infection, post-operative
  complications, preventative measures, and medication administration
• Assesses and prepares patients/families for discharge
• Participates in ongoing certifications at CHCO including: certification in Glucometer testing and AEDcertification. Engages in on-line educational courses and hospital-wide conferences

● Managed direct patient care for acute infant with ventricular shunts, chronic respiratory needs and g-tube
● Responsible for focused assessments, managing medications and feeds, monthly injections, properly working
in-home medical equipment (pumps, nebulizers, vest therapies, suction), providing in-home education to
caregivers and offered compassionate nursing care in the sensitive home environment
● Collaborated in care with a diverse care team of nurses, doctors, therapists, and hospitals. Provided
leadership in nursing and gained experience learning from large care team
