- As a designer my responsibilities were to read Ship Diagrams for the US Coast Guards latest Offshore Patrol Cutter (OPC5) and transfer that information into working 3D models of different ship piping systems utilizing Ship Constructor 24/25 and Navisworks programs. After modeling I then would use the models to create working arrangement drawings of each system per unit. After we had the majority of those arrangements in to the checking department I then rolled over to assist the checking department as a Lead Reviewer. This consisted of reviewing the arrangement drawing and comparing it to the working model and diagram for that system making sure that all necessary hangers, components, valves, small parts etc. were attached to the model and verified in the arrangement drawing.

Review pipe BOM for accuracy matched to the DWG Diagram. Incorporate all changes and liens to current DWG’s with precise accuracy and in a timely manner. Use Navis Works Freedom and Simulate to look at live models and check for any impacts on current piping models. Use Bluebeam to create PDF’s and mark-up DWG’s for electronic check packages. Trained new hires for the process of 2D extractions in accordance with company standards. Mentored New hires for months after training, checking jobs once complete, and showing the most efficient drafting and design techniques.
