I am a motivated and bilingual high school student fluent in both Spanish and English, with strong communication and leadership skills with others. Last year, I was honored with 8-9 awards (student excellence) recognizing my ability to communicate in Spanish and help classmates who speak little or no English by translating assignments and facilitating work for them. Additionally, I was selected as one of the top three students from the AP due to my academic excellence and passion for learning every day. My bilingual skills, combined with my dedication and proven track record in supporting others, would make me a good role model for Section Leader. I believe my communication skills, leadership experience, and ability to work with others will help me do a great job as a section leader.
As a sophomore student, I have shown my performance skills and growth in band. My freshman year, I placed 2nd chair in the Freshman Region band, and received top awards in both my solo and ensemble performances at the regional level, which qualified me to advance to the STATE competition with both. I earned a 2 on my solo and a 1 on my ensemble at STATE. This year, as a sophomore, I achieved a first-place award for my solo performance and I am happy to be advancing to STATE for the second consecutive year. These achievements show my hard work and love for music, and I’m excited to keep getting better as a flute player.
