  • Water Main Replacement Project Fire Flow Package 1: (4.2 million budget) The scope of this contract includes mobilization and demobilization, furnishing and installing approximately 80 linear feet of 16-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, 1,550 linear feet of 12-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, 5,400 linear feet of 8-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, 600 linear feet of 6-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for water main, 120 linear feet of 4-inch zinc-coated ductile iron pipe and fittings for water/fire service connection, removing and salvaging eleven (11) fire hydrant assemblies, furnishing and installing eleven new (11) fire hydrant assemblies with guard posts; eighty four (84) service lines from the new water main to new meter boxes requiring close coordination with City of Miami Beach, protection of, and transfer of existing water meter and service from the old to the new meter box and plugging existing service lines from the old water main (contractor shall be responsible for replacing any item damaged during construction); installing ARVs; installing flushing valves; making thirty eight (38) connections to existing 4-inch, 6-inch, 8-inch, 10-inch, 12-inch, 16-inch, and 20-inch water mains including installing tapping sleeves, valves or solid sleeves, as necessary; furnishing and constructing air release valve assemblies; polyethylene encasement for ductile iron pipe and fittings; sheeting and shoring ordered left in place if ordered by the Engineer; additional suitable backfill, if needed; permanent pavement restoration; milling and asphalt overlay of existing roadways as shown on plans; temporary pavement to maintain traffic; furnish all materials, equipment and supplies necessary for cleaning, testing and disinfecting the new main; removal of existing asphalt pavement and sod; removal, transport and legal disposal of demolition material; traffic control; dewatering and disposal of product water; installing and maintaining stormwater pollution prevention materials; permitting; temporary and permanent replacement of any sidewalk, curbs, sod, pavement markings, pavement and/or driveway damaged by construction; tree protection, trimming, removal, relocation, and/or replacement as necessary; coordination with City.
  • Water Main Replacement Project Fire Flow Package 2 (Indian Creek and City Center): (3.2 million budget) The scope of Work for this contract was recommended in the City’s Water System Master Plan dated October 2019 for fire flow improvements within the Flamingo and City Center Neighborhoods. The work includes upsizing approximately 6,140 LF of existing water mains to 6”, 8”, 12”, and 16” diameter zinc-coated and polywrapped ductile iron pipe to meet fire flow pressures.
  • Water Main Replacement Project Fire Flow Package 3 (Indian Creek Drive from 41st ST to 51st ST: (4.2 million budget). Install a new 20-inch water main along 41st Street from Pine Tree Drive to Indian Creek Drive with a total length of about 1,500 feet (REMOVED FROM SCOPE ON 4/19/2022). Replace the existing 16-inch water main with a new 20-inch water main along 41st Street from Indian Creek Drive to Collins Avenue with a total length of about 300 feet (REMOVED FROM SCOPE ON 4/19/2022). Replace the existing 6-inch water main with a new 12-inch water main along Indian Creek Drive from 41st Street to W 44th Street with a total length of about 1,050 feet. Replace the existing 12-inch water main with a new 12-inch water main along the east side of Indian Creek Drive from south of 4600 Block to south of 5000 Block with a total length of about 2,875 feet. Install a new 12-inch water main along the west side of Indian Creek Drive from south of 4600 Block to south of 4700 Block with a total length of about 1,050 feet. Replace the existing 4-inch water main with a new 20-inch water main along the west side of Indian Creek Drive from south of 4700 Block to south of 5000 Block with a total length of about 1,825 feet, the majority of the proposed new water mains and water mains replacement installation will be via the open-cut method. However, the proposed 20-inch water main along 41st Street from Pine Tree Drive to Indian Creek Drive will be installed via Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) method.

  • Force Main Canal Crossing Replacement – Engineering, Design and Permitting Services for S-19: (3.2 million budget). This project involves the complete replacement of approximately 160 linear feet of 24-inch CIP wastewater force main that is installed in the center section the bridge number: 874712 along Pine Tree Dr. In addition, the City has requested the evaluation and replacement of the subaqueous crossing of a 30-inch DIP force main located on the west side of the bridge. Both force mains are part of the booster PS-28 system, located at the intersection of Pine Tree Drive and 28th Street. FM-1 was originally built in 1937 and connected to the discharge side of PS-28, it ran north from PS-28 to 74th Street, along La Gorce Dr. and Pine Tree Dr. FM-2 was built in 1975 and connected to the suction side of PS-28. It runs from W 58th street to PS-28 along Pine Tree Dr. Both force mains are interconnected at W 51st St., between W 44th St. and W 42nd St. and at the pump station site. Both force mains are currently connected to the suction side of the booster PS-28, with the flow going to the south.
  • Normandy Isles Neighborhood 04 Pedestrian Pathway at Bridge 876728 from Marseille Dr to S. Shore Dr ($250,000 budget): The scope of work consists of milling and resurfacing 1” Friction Course of the two-lane roadway, approximately 510 linear feet from Marseille Drive to just south of S. Shore Drive. Utility adjustments and relocations, clearing and grubbing, demolition of existing sidewalk, curb and gutter type F, Construction of 4” concrete sidewalk, curb and gutter type “F” and type “D”. Relocate existing Irrigation System and Palm trees removal and relocation.
  • Heneden Avenue Bridge over Biscayne Point Canal is located between Cleveland Road and Daytona Road within Biscayne Point neighborhood ($250,000 budget): This Project will include enhancements to the bridge’s substructure and superstructure. Elements of the bridge affected by the repairs are identified in the plans and specifications. Construction tasks for the Project include but are not limited to spall repairs, installation of missing sign, joint replacement, vegetation removal, sign replacement, traffic railing cleaning and recoating, exposed rebar removal, cracks repairs, and pile jacket installation.

  • Beach Towing 1349 Dade Blvd Harmonization Project: ($50,000 Budget): The scope of project consists of harmonizing the two driveway entrances of the beach towing company to fix the existing driveway slope to prevent cars damage due to the existing slope.
  • Seven Seawalls: (1.5 million budget – GOB Funds) Jefferson Ave, Garden Ave, Trouville Esplanade, 7150 Indian Creek, Rue Notre Dame, Bonita Drive, & Lenox Court. These seawalls are reaching the end of their design life. The failing seawall at this location will be reconstructed/rehabilitated with a standard king and batter piles with concrete panels system which will be installed on the outside of the existing seawall. The result will be a unified structure with sufficient integrity to prevent shore erosion and further damage to the canal’s water quality and benthic life. Furthermore, the elevation of the new seawall will be 5.7 NAVD, to satisfy the recommendation of the Mayor’s Blue-Ribbon Panel to increase the seawall top-of-cap elevation to a minimum of 5.7 NAVD.

This project was the first section of the variable priced toll system being implemented in South Florida. This 2-year long, $122 Million project included many new and challenging aspects including, but not limited to: ITS installation for tolling and traffic monitoring systems, Turnpike Infrastructure installation, numerous cantilever and truss sign structures, traffic control devices for express lanes, drainage, concrete pavement, earthwork, bridge widening and major bridge work (micro-piles, post-tensioning, steel structures). Due to the nature of this innovative concept, this project also required significant coordination with a multitude of stakeholders and governmental agencies.

Inspector- This is a $147M design-build project involving the reconstruction of US 1 (from Abaco Road to the Monroe-Dade County Line) and includes the Jewish Creek Bridge, five miles of roadway, and 7,500 feet of new bridge.
