Summary

I was a camp coach during the summers. From 8:30-3:30 I was in charge of 10-13, 3-5 year olds. During this time I was in charge of these children to make sure they were safe, having fun, and getting the most out of their day. I learned about the importance of communication during this job because when talking to children you must communicate very clearly and precisely.

Volunteer Experience

  • YL senior leader, I spend Thursdays with the freshman and participate and lead Bible studies with them, During the week I go to their sporting events and meet them for lunch or ice cream!, It's a great way for freshman to feel welcomed and apart of the school community
  • YL work crew, 3 weeks volunteering in North Carolina serving campers, I spent everyday serving them food and preparing their dinning space to help them have the best week ever, Throughout the three weeks I learned patience, compassion, teamwork, and resilience when the days were difficult
  • YL work crew weekends, Throughout the year, I will devout my weekend at a YL camp. My responsibilities are the same as the summer long camps., Schools come to camp for a weekend and lots of the camps need help to feed and take care of the hundreds of campers that arrive., I will serve and feed all the campers that weekend.
  • Love that dress, This is an annual event where donated dresses are sold at a discounted price to help girls that can't afford to spent a lot of money on prom or formal dresses an opportunity to feel confident on a day like prom, During this I helped lots of girls find their dresses. I walked around and helped them look for the dress they would shine in!, Seeing the girls find a dress they loved at a price they could afford was so fulfilling

Extracurricular Activities

-National honors society is a club that focuses on getting involved in the community. Every member is required 20 hours of volunteer work per year. I have been apart of this club my junior and senior year

-Student council, Student council focuses on what goes on around the school., We are in charge of fundraising so our school can have events like homecoming, prom, coming home, and other small events during the year. We are also in charge of planning all the events. I have been apart of student council since my freshman year

-Centennial Girls Cotillion is another volunteer organization. Each year as a club we choose which foundation to raise money for. There are volunteer opportunities and fundraising events throughout the year in order to give the organization money at the end of year banquet.

-Cougar crew, Cougar crew's main focus is to help the school feel unified. During the summer we run a three day long orientation for the up coming freshman. We take them around the school and tell them all they need to know to prepare them for the next four years. We are given a group of students to mentor and become friends with for the duration of the year. This helps the freshman feel involved before the first day of school, I have been apart of cougar crew my junior and senior year.
