From a young age, I've been captivated by the world of baking. As the sibling who came home from school every day and made cookies for the family, I relished in their reactions when they took their first bites. This passion gradually evolved into a fascination with cake decorating. I would spend hours watching videos of professional bakers creating their designs, wishing for the materials to do the same. When I received my first cake decorating kit for my fourteenth birthday, it ignited a new passion within me. I practiced relentlessly, even using sheets of cardboard when I didn't have a cake on hand. Eventually, I got a job as a Cake Decorator at Harris Teeter, honing my skills and creating cakes for various occasions: birthdays, anniversary's, and even weddings. Although I had to quit the job due to high school basketball season, my interest persisted. I started taking requests from friends and family, which, in time, became friends-of-friends and complete strangers. I finally made a Facebook account for my business and continued to do what I love, while also making profit. Interacting with customers as a Cake Decorator has had a significant impact on my everyday life. Through these interactions, I've developed valuable skills in communication, patience, and problem-solving. These skills have not only influenced my cake decorating journey but have also shaped me as a person, helping me navigate various aspects of life with confidence and adaptability.
