  • Conduct Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) inspections at food processing plants, food warehouses, and produce farms, with documentation of sanitary conditions, durability of equipment and buildings with application of regulations while providing an educational approach to industry representatives.
  • Responsible for enforcement of food & health safety laws, administrative codes, regulations and standards governing food safety licensing programs, under the authority of Wisconsin Statues. To ensure the overall health and safety needs are met for the consumers utilizing these facilities and their products.
  • Prepare reports based upon inspection findings and enforcement of code and statues while providing education to operators.
  • Use the following systems to maintain inspection records and provide communication including Microsoft, CRM, SharePoint, One Drive, and Health Space.
  • Conduct specialized inspections including: Preventive Controls (PC), seafood, bottled water, low acid canned food (LACF), acidified, and FDA contract.
  • Participated in collecting finished food product sampling, environmental swabbing, and produce post harvest water sampling while maintaining chain of custody to review laboratory data and share results with operators to better understand food safety parameters.
  • Involved in several work groups including CRM, LACF, Resco, and Preventive Controls to provide input, gain knowledge, and improve worker function while continuing my education through in-person and online food and produce safety trainings.
  • Work with other local, state, and federal departments and agencies as necessary. Including recalls, food emergencies and investigations relating to natural disasters, fires, salvage operations,conduct investigations relating to food and waterborne illness, respond to consumer complaints, and carry out tasks for holding order, holding order releases, and disposals.

  • Received a passing evaluation from State of WI FDA liaison for a PC FDA contract inspection.
  • Assisted with three adulterated food holding orders, product assessments, product release, and disposals to ensure affected food did not enter the food market to protect public health.
