Long-Term Beginning Band Teacher Substitute

• A two month Fourth Grade beginning band replacement between two elementary schools in a city district. My duties during this time were to work with the students in developing basic musicianship, techniques on their instruments trough lessons, as well as guide them through and set expectations for band rehearsals.

Student Teaching in Elementary General Music

• A two month placement in a city school district with a total of 33 classes and 650 students, grades 2-5, where I implemented a variety of learning exercises over a 5-Day based lesson plan. This 5-Day lesson plan was an introduction to general music, focused on building rapport with the students, student success and understanding of rhythm, dynamics, and Solfege.

Student teaching in Middle and High School Bands

• In a period of two months at a rural school district, I directed band instrument lessons focused on building technical skills and musicality, while simultaneously building a rapport with the students. Additionally, I rehearsed and conducted band pieces in the High School Concert Band, High School Jazz Band, Middle School Concert Band and Middle School Jazz Band.

Practicum in Elementary General Music

• Created a five day synthesis plan focused on teaching third grade level learners how dance, visual art, and music intersect, inspired by the movie "Fantasia".

Practicum in Teaching Beginning Instruments

• Over the course of 11 lessons, I worked with my student to create a space that accommodated their needs and special interests, in order for them to best be immersed in their learning experience on the horn and ancient music.

• I provide private horn lessons to all who are interested. These lessons focus on starting and refining skills on the horn.
