  • My responsibilities were for building and staff security and safety, as well as prisoner movement and security.
  • I was constantly in public view in one form or another. As such, whether the situation was friendly or unfriendly, I became very adept at communication and crisis intervention with the daily public that came through the front door, or with the incarcerated who came through the lock-up doors instead.
  • I am certified in CPR, First Aid, OC Spray, Naloxone administration, as well as trauma triage.
  • During my time at the Cook County Sheriff's office, I have attained all but two classes needed for my associate's degree, which I am hoping to complete very soon.
  • Prior to the Cook County Sheriff's Office, I have worked as a security officer, as well as a corrections officer in two small county jails in the state of Missouri. While in this environment, I learned to think quickly while continuing to pursue my other duties, and to come to a peaceful solution to any situation that arose.
