• Admit and recover patients undergoing venograms.

• Admit and recover patients coming in for arterial and venous peripheral procedures.
• Administer conscious sedation to above patients.

• Assess ICU patients each shift to ascertain vitals and key information.
• Evaluate patient vital signs and laboratory data to assess needs and provide emergency interventions.
• Supervise cardiac monitors, mechanical ventilators and alarms and oxygen delivery devices.
• Admit and recover patients undergoing cardiovascular surgeries including CABG and TAVR.

As a registered nurse in the Float Pool at Community Hospital I have worked in multiple areas of patient care. I have taken care of patients in the Emergency Department, multiple Intermediare Care Units as well as all 3 Intensive Care Units, including the Cardiovascular Unit, Neuroscience Critical Care Unit and the Intensive Care Unit. The past 2 years I have been involved in the care and treatment of Covid 19 patients in both the IMCU and ICU setting.

• Assessed and prepared patients for procedures, performing initial and ongoing patient assessments.
• Participated in bedside reporting and handoff at change of shift and for patient transfers.
• Monitored and managed various treatment and care interventions.
• Monitored and recorded patient condition, vital signs, recovery progress, and medication side effects.
• Oversaw patient admission and discharge processes to coordinate related paperwork.

During this time I worked in the Cardiovascular Unit where I served as a charge nurse and a preceptor for incoming nurses to the unit. I worked alongside other nurses, physicians and other members of the patient care team to care for patients recovering from open heart surgery and other critical illness’s.

In my role as a nurse on the IMCU I was a bedside nurse caring for patients. I oversaw patient care while administering medications and monitoring patient heart rhythms. Coordinating care with testing departments while communicating with physicians was a part of this job.

• Acted as patient advocate and implemented total patient care through team nursing process.
• Counseled patients and caregivers, providing emotional, psychological and spiritual support.
• Prioritized nursing tasks and assignments and accurately reported patient status.

During my role as a Nurse Fellow I obtained CNA certification. I coordinated daily patient care such as bathing and basic daily activities. Dressing changes and blood glucose monitoring were a part of my job description. This role assisted my education of becoming a nurse by allowing me to gain experience of being in a hospital setting and being involved in direct patient care.
