I am committed to providing outstanding customer service, no matter the customer, adult or youth. I consider myself a positive role model focused on team leadership, personnel support and customer relationship building. I offer 25+ years of experience in excellent communication skills, dedication, professionalism and constant learning. I have a positive attitude which lends to ease of connecting with most people and creating a relaxed environment.
In my position as a Garden Sales Associate, I am always being challenged with new tasks and given a variety of responsibilities on each shift. In addition to my everyday tasks of maintaining store appearance, stocking shelves and providing excellent customer service, I am frequently asked to help with creating new and innovative displays, updating signage, and remaining aware of sales and inventory. I have taken the initiative to become certified to drive both the forklift and reach truck. Another important part of my daily responsibility is to stay up to date and knowledgeable about all of our products and services, in order to better inform and help customers.
Recently, I was asked to, and have been training to work in our store's Bookkeeping Office as a backup. In this position, I am responsible for balancing the tills, counting and maintaining the vault, creating daily bank deposits and resolving discrepancies in any of the store's monies.
As a supervisor at Starbucks, I was responsible for both openings and closings of the store. I was required to create tills and deposits from the vault. I was often in charge of inventory and creating orders. In this position, I usually had anywhere from 2-6 employees under my care. I made sure that both employees and customers were well taken care of and satisfied. I designated breaks for employees, tried to build morale and positivity among the crew and often was put in charge of training new hires. I tried to maintain the best customer service my team and I could offer through timeliness, accuracy and care.
As a supervisor, I was also in charge of maintaining the standards of both the company and health requirements. I, and my staff, always tried to keep the high standards of cleanliness and safety. This meant constantly evaluating product freshness, the proper functioning of equipment and the proper use of cleaning methods and materials.
I started as a cashier with Wegmans and through the years, transferred to different states to open new stores, worked my way up through different departments and became a salaried Cafe Manager.
As a Cafe Manager, I was responsible for 4 different departments and each of it's employees. I was in charge of interviewing and hiring for these departments, employee evaluations and training, maintaining schedules and overall employee morale and welfare. I made sure the business ran as smoothly as possible on each of my shifts.
As well as employee relations, I was also responsible for the merchandising, appearance and profit and loss of these departments. I was challenged to increase sales and was able to accomplish this through making sure our customer service was outstanding, making sure product was in stock and appealing and constantly creating new and exciting promotions to draw customers in.
