Complied with all security regulations within jail system and administered care in safest possible environment. Oversaw the medical unit which typical housed 25 inmate, many detoxing and others with acute health issues suchs as uncontrolled blood pressure or diabetes. Treated all inmates with compassion and dignity.

Created careplans to help support members reach their health goals. Coordinated care with PCP, and other providers, for complex members with multiple needs. Assisted members to find in network providers, and set up and In for out authorization when necessary. Referred members to other health care professionals on the team, ie dietician, pharmacist, social work, respiratory therapist, as appropriate to help reduce any barriers to care. Reviewed inpatient cases, and completed pre and post calls, and discussed any denials with members and directed appropriate action.

Worked on Oncology and Hospice floor as well as Medical surgical floor, managed the medical needs of a patient assignment of 5-7 pts, advocate for patient with doctors , family, and therapists, communicate with all members of the healthcare team, educate patient on the disease process and set goals for the plan of care, complete head to toe assessments and report concerns to doctor, administer all medications safely according to protocol, complete nursing interventions as needed and as ordered, and precept new nurses on the floor to acclimate them to the role.

Worked as the unit manager on two separate units, the medically frail unit and the youth adult unit at a long term care facility for children. Interviewed and hired staff for RN, LPN, and CNA positions. Supervised staff, provided annual reviews and corrective action as needed. Provided assessments to residents and decided whether individual needed to go to the hospital and conducted assessments when they returned. Maintained residents charts and schedule medical appointments as needed.

Maintained the health care record for approx 25 individuals with developmental disabilities with wide range of diagnosises and age range from 17 -80 years old, living in 4 different group homes. Educated staff how to best care for individuals and about any new health concerns. Insured that individuals were receiving the appropriate medical care and follow up appointments.  Certified staff on safe med pass procedure, and observed for compliance.
