While working at Kippys Place through high school and into my first year of college I was able to learn a variety of skills. By working hard and not being afraid to get my hands dirty in the kitchen I earned multiple pay increases, additional hours and was asked to work additional shifts consistently, as well as taking responsibilities and leading the kitchen on certain nights of the week. I am currently a Sophomore at Iowa State University, with a major in Animal Ecology centered on Fisheries and Aquatic Science. Conservation has always been something that has interested me, and being able to work in the field that I love is a dream I am currently pursuing. Growing up being rooted off of hunting and fishing helped me realize what I wanted to do. I achieved making the Deans List in my second semester of my freshman year and finished with 3.46 cumulative GPA for the year.

Growing up in Elkhart, Iowa, my family raised me on hunting whitetail deer and bass fishing lakes and ponds. These hobbies are practically my life outside of work and school, as it is all I can think about doing. These hobbies are what led me to choose my major, as working in the conservation field interests me most
