Volunteering Experiences

  • Volunteer at Driscoll Children's Hospital in Corpus Christi, TX

         -Volunteer activities included learning hospital procedure and assisting employees   in various departments of the hospital. Most importantly, this work included providing a positive attitude to children in less fortunate conditions of health.

  • TOKC Foundation Member at Veterans Memorial High School

         - Triumph Over Kid Cancer Foundation was founded in Corpus Christi, TX and seeks to provide funding and build awareness for children diagnosed with various forms of cancer. Volunteer work included fundraisers in order to make money to help less fortunate families pay hospital bills, while also funding cancer research.

  • RaiderHangout

         - RaiderHangout is a group formed at Texas Tech University that provides an opportunity for children with special needs to receive love and a break from their daily life. Most volunteering opportunities involve travelling to various schools within Lubbock ISD and playing with the children.

  • Hoopin' for the Homeless

         - Hoopin' for the Homeless is an annual charity basketball tournament in Corpus Christi, TX that works with Mission 911 to provide food and more suitable living conditions for the homeless within the community. This volunteer work included planning, spreading awareness, and setting up the event.

Positions of Leadership

  • Interfraternity Council Vice President at Texas Tech University

         - Elected Executive Vice President to the council that governs fraternity life on campus. This position entails collecting and disseminating information regarding fraternity life to the campus and community as well as planning and coordinating events. 

  • Delta Tau Delta Chaplain

         - Executive position held within the fraternity that deals with mental health. This position includes leading bible studies within the fraternity along with joint bible studies with other fraternities and sororities.

  • Delta Tau Delta Intramural Chair

         - This position held within the fraternity coordinates intramural sports. The responsibilities for this position include creating teams and coordinating events.

  • High School Football Team Captain

         - This position held from my sophomore year through senior, included leading my football team on and off the field. Responsibilities included leading team meetings and providing an example to others on how to behave myself in the game of football and as a person.
