Clinical Manager

Mercy Health-Muskegon Hackley and Mercy campus
01.2016 - 01.2021
  • Clinical Manager, for House-wide Supervisors, Vascular Access Team, Central Transport, and staffing offices at Mercy Health-Muskegon Hackley and Mercy campus. Led the patient flow committee in order to foster internal and external relationships (i.e. Physicians, Directors/Managers of each unit within the hospital and Director of local ambulance services). This was to decrease patient holding times within the Emergency Department, increase patient and colleague satisfaction. When going live with EPIC, correct patient flow showed potential problematic concerns with movement of patients within the EHR. Implementation of mock scenarios within the EHR was added so each discipline was able to correctly place orders to move the patient from each area of entry into the hospital. This decreased the calls from various disciplines for clarity on how to place their orders. This also increased workflow efficiency within the order system of the EHR. Responsible for 130 employees in which I initiate and execute yearly employee performance evaluations, any required discipline, all hiring, and any termination for each of these departments. Also responsible for managing the budgets and accurate timeline record keeping for payroll for each one of these departments. Lead liaison in the initiation of a command center where all patient movement will take place for this new 270 bed facility as well as oversight of the Incident Command Center when activated during any internal or external disaster. Yearly requirements for data integrity is completed by thorough safety and security measures with each colleague through cross checking the colleagues’ access to PHI, matching the colleagues access to the EHR to their appropriate job title.

A mature person is one who does not think only in absolutes, who is able to be objective even when deeply stirred emotionally, who has learned that there is both good and bad in all people and all things, and who walks humbly and deals charitably with the circumstances of life.
