My love for horses started as a child with my mini-pony, Domino. Then at the age of 11 my mom got me and my sister our first horses, Cyrus and Renegade. That is when my riding career really took off, being that both geldings needed a bit of training. I started working with a man named Ronald Griffith, a long-time horse trainer and cowboy. He helped me get Cyrus under control, teaching me training methods and horsemanship, while Amber (who was his wrangler at the time) taught me more in the saddle. After I left there, Cyrus and I went on to do parades, drill team and trail rides regularly and, although he had come a long way, I felt it was time to invest in a more advanced horse for me to do more with. So after selling Cyrus and Renegade to a local guest ranch (which I now currently work at and get to see him all the time) I bought a mare and her 6 month old filly. Indy, who is now nearing 3 years old (this April) is beginning her training while also furthering mine. We will be breaking and training her over the winter. If she is anything like her mom, Ellie, she will be fantastic. Ellie and I do lots of trail rides, parades, barrel racing, jumping, swimming, drill team, and ranch rodeo. I'm interested in working at a bigger horseback riding operation to grow my skills as a trail guide, while also putting time on my horses in a different setting.
