I was responsible for tracking medical referrals written by this facility from start to finish. Logging in medical reports into
CHCS(a government computerized program)which is used here at Moody AFB to ensure that reports are sent to the
physician in a timely manner. I was designated the Team Leader for the section to help facilitate all activites. All
hardcopy medical reports are delivered on a daily basis to the respective primary care provider.I also conduct briefings to
patients that walk-in to the referral management office on the referral process. Verifying patients are registered in the
government computerized database, updating demographic information and obtaining current and accurate contact
information is an essential part of the patient’s referral process. Scheduling and coordinating of specialty referral
appointments with specialty referral clinics(e.g., internal MTF, Veteran’s Affairs clinic, etc)ensures that the patient leave the
MTF with documentation appropriate for the referred episode of care. Knowledge of medical terminology, medical forms,
