Cassandra Salas is a dedicated and motivated Media Composer currently finishing her Bachelor's degree at Cal State Northridge. Cassandra has been a musician for the majority of her life. She began singing at the young age of four when her mother took notice of her talent. She began piano lessons at the age of six and continued until she was 10 years old. At the age of 16 she began taking formal vocal lessons and began writing her own music. She was active in her high school's theatre program, and performed in several musicals and concerts.
She continued writing her own material and performing in various venues around the greater LA area. In her time of being a free lance singer-songwriter, she has collaborated with local artists, performing and songwriting for them. She was inspired to go back to school to earn a degree in music. In 2018 received the Herb Alpert Scholarship at Los Angeles City College and earned her AA in music composition. She graduated with honors and received multiple awards and scholarships.
In 2020 she transferred to Cal State Northridge to fulfill her aspirations of earning a Bachelor's degree in Commercial Media & Writing. She was accepted into the Mike Curb School of Media and Communications and will graduate in 2023. In her time at CSUN she has worked on student films, writing cues, scoring to film, and learning how to write and arrange for film and television. She has written instrumental pieces for chamber music and the school's orchestra. She's excited to begin the next step of her music career after graduation. She hopes to find a position where she can grow and reach her full potential.
