- When I first began my career at Juniors I worked as an assistant teacher, and assisted in classrooms with children ages 2 moths to five years of age. I supported daily routines, play-based learning, and developmental milestones. After two years as an assistant, I got the opportunity to become the Lead Teacher with the 6- to 12-month-old children. As a Lead, I oversaw curriculum planning, care routines, and parent communication, as well as ensured that my classroom was meeting the North Dakota licensing requirement and center safety standards. I also provided specialized care for a child who had a hands-on medical condition; this included learning and training staff on his feeding tube and offering him individual attention to focus on his early interventional occupational therapy. Throughout my time as a Lead, I maintained a warm, safe, and structured environment while fostering creativity, exploration, and learning.
